UCO typically originates from commercial establishments such as restaurants, hotels, and food processing industries, but can also be collected from households. Once oils are exposed to high temperatures repeatedly, they undergo oxidation, polymerization, and contamination, making them unsuitable for reuse in food preparation. Instead of disposal, UCO is increasingly being collected and processed for sustainable applications.
